Mayor-Council Government Structure

                                             

                                                     Under this structure, voters elect the Mayor and members of the Council.

 

•The mayor and council together form the governing body for the  town and they appoint the town clerk, town attorney, and other employees. 

•Under the Mayor-Council form of government, the council is both legislative and administrative in nature and oversee all municipal employees and activities.

•Town Council members act as liaison between the departments and the Town Council.

•Council acts in concert when policies or administrative actions are needed.
